Job summary

NYU Langone Hospitals in Palm Beach County, FL is seeking a Cardiac & Vascular Sonographer (FGP) to perform comprehensive cardiac and vascular ultrasound studies.

The role requires RDCS/RVT or RCS/RVS credentials, BLS, an associate degree in a related field, and the ability to work with diverse teams while maintaining patient care.

You will ensure high-quality imaging, adhere to NYU protocols and accreditation standards, and participate in maintaining documentation and reports.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in a related field and completion of an accredited program in cardiac and vascular ultrasound or equivalent.
• RDCS and RVT OR RCS and RVS credentials; one cardiac and one vascular; may obtain second within one year of hire.
• BLS certification.
• Active registry status required.

Responsibilities

• Performs all specified cardiac ultrasound studies including echocardiograms, treadmill stress echocardiograms, pharmacological stress echocardiograms, echocardiograms with ultrasound enhancing agents and agitated saline studies.
• Performs all vascular ultrasound studies including carotid duplex, upper and lower extremity venous and arterial duplex studies, abdominal aortic studies, renal artery duplex studies, iliocaval duplex studies, mesenteric duplex studies, plethysmography and ankle-brachial index studies.
• All studies must adhere to NYU protocols as well as IAC and ACR standards.
• Provides for patient comfort and explains the procedure and equipment to the patient clearly; verifies patient identity.
• Creates preliminary reports and documents scans; enters and maintains patient data; exercises good judgment on diagnostic sufficiency.
• Usage of highly technical ultrasound equipment and alerts staff to abnormalities; compares to prior studies; assists with accreditation documentation.

Education

Associates Degree in related field and accredited cardiac/vascular ultrasound program

RDCS and RVT OR RCS and RVS credentials (one cardiac + one vascular)

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
