Overview

Missouri Baptist Medical Center is an acute care hospital in St. Louis County offering a full range of medical and surgical services, including heart care, cancer, women and infants, breast health, gastrointestinal, orthopedic, stroke, therapy, wound, and pain management services. The hospital features a 24-hour adult emergency department and a separate pediatric emergency department in collaboration with St. Louis Children’s Hospital.

The Advanced Cardiac Care Unit (ACCU) is a 48-bed, fast-paced cardiac care unit providing an exciting environment for skilled nurses to grow and learn.

Role Purpose

Provides direct patient care activities including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation within nursing standards.

Responsibilities
  • Promotes patient and family-centered care in a healing environment. Educates patients and families on managing their illness, injury, post-treatment home care, and medication administration.
  • Participates in activities promoting patient safety, quality, and regulatory compliance. Engages in professional development.
  • Develops, implements, and documents individualized care plans with clear goals in collaboration with the interprofessional team, patient, family, or caregiver, ensuring communication across the continuum of care.
  • Uses critical nursing skills to assess and evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs according to standards of care. Considers patient preferences, values, and barriers to involvement in care.
  • This position is safety-sensitive; the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safety is essential.
