Job summary

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) is a world leader in remotely piloted aircraft and surveillance systems. Under general supervision, this role provides technical design solutions for structural products using CAD tools such as NX/Siemens, Creo, or SolidWorks and PLM systems Windchill/Teamcenter.

Extensive NX and Teamcenter experience is essential. May guide junior designers and coordinate with engineering teams.

Qualifications

Associate degree or certificate in CAD software with 10+ years of experience.
Extensive hands-on experience with NX/Siemens and Teamcenter is essential.
Strong knowledge of PLM tools Windchill and Teamcenter.

Responsibilities

Develops design solutions for structural products and components.
Interact closely with engineering staff to refine design concepts and track progress.
Take ownership of design responsibility for significant portions of projects.
Develop solid models, layouts, sketches, and drawings of parts and assemblies, and investigate factors like damage tolerance and structural modeling.
Participate in design reviews and integrate feedback from engineering analysis, test results, and customer input.
Support configuration control through PLM tools (Windchill, Teamcenter).
Details related to structural assemblies, mechanisms, and devices.
Ensure conformity to design standards and specifications, and identify issues and recommend changes.
Provide documentation and prepare technical presentations to staff and customers as required.
