Job summary

Datum Engineers is seeking an Advanced Structural BIM Technician in Dallas to develop and manage detailed Revit models and construction documents for healthcare, higher education, K-12, municipal, cultural, and commercial projects.

You will lead BIM modeling efforts, coordinate with architects and engineers, mentor junior staff, and contribute to BIM workflow improvements while ensuring Datum standards and high-quality deliverables.

Qualifications

• Advanced proficiency with Autodesk Revit.
• Strong understanding of BIM workflows and model management.
• Experience producing construction documents for commercial building projects.

Responsibilities

• Developing and managing detailed Revit models and construction documents.
• Producing accurate structural drawings and project deliverables.
• Incorporating redline markups, standard details, and general notes into project documents.
• Leading BIM modeling efforts and supporting project teams throughout the design process.
• Coordinating with architects, engineers, and other disciplines to ensure model accuracy and consistency.
• Managing multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and quality standards.
• Performing quality assurance and quality control reviews.
• Maintaining project files, production folders, and document organization in accordance with Datum standards.
• Providing technical guidance and mentorship to BIM team members.
• Supporting continuous improvement of BIM workflows, standards, and best practices.
• Assisting with office operations and special projects as needed.

This is more than a production role. You’ll be a key contributor to project delivery, helping coordinate multidisciplinary design teams, improve BIM processes, and mentor fellow technicians while supporting projects that serve healthcare, higher education, K-12, municipal, cultural, and commercial clients.

What You’ll Do

• Developing and managing detailed Revit models and construction documents

What We’re Looking For / Required Qualifications

• Advanced proficiency with Autodesk Revit
• Strong understanding of BIM workflows and model management
• Experience producing construction documents for commercial building projects
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication and collaboration skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in structural engineering consulting
• Knowledge of structural building systems and terminology
• Experience coordinating with architectural, MEP, and other design disciplines
• Ability to mentor or provide technical direction to others
