Job summary

City of Cincinnati seeks an automotive mechanic to diagnose and repair a wide range of equipment including cars, trucks, and heavy machinery. You will perform tune-ups, engine repairs, and hydraulic unit work, with opportunities to handle electrical components and fuel systems.

Applicants should have two years in automotive repair; ASE and EVT certifications are desirable. A valid CDL may be required, and shifts can include nights or weekends.

Qualifications

  • Two (2) years of paid experience in automotive repair work.
  • It is desirable to possess ASE and EVT certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose causes of equipment malfunction and determine parts to repair or replace.
  • Repair engines and related components including carburetors and fuel systems.
  • Perform tune-ups on engines for trucks, heavy equipment, and specialized gear.
  • Overhaul and install mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic units on trucks and heavy equipment.
  • Drive tow truck or service vehicle to scene for emergency repairs.
