Job summary

Telesis Research LLC is seeking a Principal-level engineer to provide advanced technical analysis and lead development of on-demand and cloud-based software for complex DoD programs. The role requires a Master’s in a STEM field with 12+ years’ missile-defense experience and an Active Secret clearance.

On-site work at Redstone Arsenal, Huntsville, AL, with leadership across teams on cloud/HWIL initiatives. The candidate will design, develop, and manage software libraries and cloud architectures,

Qualifications

• Master's degree in a STEM field with 12+ years of experience on missile-defense-related or other complex DoD programs
• Active Secret clearance and US citizenship required
• Experience in design, development, and management of software libraries and cloud-based architectures
• HWIL and cloud-based testing experience to support software development and delivery
• Experience in APIs, ICDs, and enabling software for cloud-based and HWIL environments
• Experience in AI development and tooling and agentic operations
• Ability to work independently or lead teams with engineering rigor

Job description

What you'll do:

• Provide technical and engineering analysis to support development of on-demand and cloud-based software for system-of-systems development, integration, and testing

Required qualifications:

• Active Secret clearance
• Master's degree in a STEM field with 12+ years working on missile-defense-related or other complex, large DoD programs/projects
• Design, development, and management of software libraries and cloud-based software architectures and requirements
• Experience in hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL) and cloud-based testing to support software development and delivery
• Experience in management and review of application programming interfaces (APIs), interface control documents (ICDs), and enabling software used in cloud-based and HWIL environments
• Experience in artificial intelligence development and tooling and agentic operations
• Ability to work independently, as a team member, or leading teams/tasks, applying engineering rigor to solve engineering/scientific problems

Preferred qualifications:

• Cloud & containerization — practical experience with Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, Azure and migrating legacy enterprise applications to cloud-native architectures
• Agile & DevSecOps — strong working knowledge of Agile and Lean software development within a secure DevSecOps framework
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC) — Terraform, Ansible for reproducible, auditable, secure cloud environments
• Modern configuration management and version control (e.g., Git) to enforce policy-as-code, baseline management, and compliance
• Top Secret clearance or the ability to qualify for one
