Job summary

Northwest Cancer Centers is seeking an Advance Practice Provider (PA/NP/CNS) to deliver oncologic care in clinic or via telemedicine. The role collaborates with physicians, plans and documents care, and supports prevention, treatment and research initiatives.

The position is generally entry-level with 0–3 years post-MSN/PA/CNS experience; licensure, BLS, and state credentials are required to practice. On-site responsibilities include patient education and care coordination within Idaho?

Qualifications

• Nurse Practitioner MSN from an accredited nursing school and completion of a Nurse Practitioner program.
• RN state licensure and current registration with the State Board of Nursing.
• Current state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner.
• Current basic life support (BLS)/CPR certification required.
• Physician Assistant with completion of an accredited PA program.
• NCCPA certification.
• Current state license as a Physician Assistant in practicing state.
• Clinical Nurse Specialist MSN from an accredited nursing school and completion of a Clinical Nurse Specialist program.
• Current state licensure as a Clinical Nurse Specialist.
• Current basic life support (BLS)/CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care for patients.
• Initiates and documents interventions; evaluates and prescribes therapies as indicated.
• Performs procedures after appropriate training.
• Assesses patient/family needs and provides education.
• Promotes wellness and recommends community resources to meet patient and family needs.
• Incorporates developing knowledge of evidence-based research into clinical practice.
• Developing knowledge of reimbursement procedures and documentation requirements.
• Completes patient charge capture and medical record documentation in a timely fashion.
• May provide case management for patients and their families, given limited knowledge of community resources.
• May promote/provide staff education.
• Responsibilities may include rounding at affiliated hospitals and weekend or after-hour calls.
• Other duties as assigned.

Advance Practice Provider (Physician Assistant / Nurse Practitioner Masters / Clinical Nurse Specialist Masters)

SCOPE: Under supervision or in collaboration with practice physicians, the Advance Practice Provider involved in the care of individuals, families and patient groups who are dealing with cancer or other related diagnosis. This care may be in clinic or virtually, via telemedicine. Responsibilities may include duties related to prevention, screening, patient care, management, and research. May serve as direct caregiver, health care consultant, patient educator, administrator, or researcher. Ensures compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards and requirements. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.

• Nurse Practitioner Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited nursing school and successful completion of a Nurse Practitioner program.

• - RN state licensure and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state.
• - Current state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner.
• - Current basic life support (BLS)/CPR certification required.
• OR
• Physician Assistant with successful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
• - This position is entry-level and typically requires 0-3 years of experience as a practicing Physician Assistant, preferably in the chosen specialty.
• - Current NCCPA (National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants) certification.
• - Current state license as a Physician Assistant in practicing state. Current basic life support (BLS)/CPR certification required.
