Bureau of Prisons / Federal Prison System is seeking nursing professionals to provide comprehensive care within a corrections setting, ensuring humane treatment and public safety as part of reentry preparation.
The role requires a nursing degree from an accredited program, NCLEX passage, and licensure in the appropriate US jurisdiction. Applicants must upload license proof and participate in credentialing processes, including medical examinations and residency documentation.

To be considered for the position, you must meet the following qualification requirements.
Education: A graduate or higher level degree in nursing from an accredited educational program in the area of expertise or specialty indicated by the position. This education must have been accredited by Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs, Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education or an accrediting body recognized by U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained.
Degree from Foreign Nursing School: Official certification from Commission on Graduates on Foreign Nursing Schools is required for individuals who graduated from foreign nursing schools.
AND
Licensure: Applicants must have passed the National Council Licensure Examination and applicants applying for Advance Practice Nurse positions must be licensed or registered by a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States in the clinical specialty required by the position.

There is no substitution of education for specialized experience at this grade level.
Work experience must have equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Applicants must have at least one or more full years of professional nursing experience that is equivalent to the next lower grade level.
Applicants applying for this position MUST also possess the following Selective Factor. In the event you do not possess the Selective Factors, you will be found ineligible for the position.

If applicable, credit will be given for paid and unpaid experience. To receive proper credit, you must show the actual time (such as the number of hours worked per week) spent in activities.
