Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Manufacturing Engineer shall be responsible for, but not limited to, the following tasks:

BASIC
  1. Implement production process with continuous improvement.
  2. Create documentation for production support and data collection.
  3. Create and update process control plans and PFMEA’s (Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis).
  4. Select vendors for equipment and production materials.
  5. Develop and issue criteria to vendors for supplied items.
  6. Determine stock items and quantities for equipment spare parts and production materials.
  7. Define preventative maintenance items and schedules for equipment.
  8. Support TS16949 Initiatives.
  9. Stay informed on materials related to company needs through trade publications, papers, seminars, and classes.
  10. Develop, document, and promote continuous improvement in manufacturing processes, production, and quality.
  11. Ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, federal laws, statutes, and governmental regulations.
  12. Manage environmental, health, and safety issues in the manufacturing area.
  13. Participate in planning personnel safety and protection activities, ensuring compliance with OSHA/IOSHA standards and regulations, and provide necessary training.
CURRENT
  1. Develop training programs for production team leaders, technicians, and operators.
  2. Initiate work orders for equipment issues.
  3. Maintain plant layout using AutoCAD.
  4. Champion improvements in areas such as:
  • Standard work/process flow
  • Work Instructions
  • BOMs
  • Safety
  • EC management
  • Process updates
  • Work cell support (tables, production fixtures, WIP racks, stands, etc.)
  • Labor utilization
  • First-time quality
  • Lean manufacturing
  • Manufacturing floor space optimization
