Universal Health Services is seeking a Registered Nurse Manager (RN) to lead behavioral health services at Rockford Center in Newark, DE. This full-time salaried role directs the delivery of psychiatric and chemical dependency nursing care on Adult Nursing Units, ensuring quality outcomes and adherence to HIPAA.

Qualifications

• Current license to practice nursing in DE.
• Two years of Nursing Management experience, psychiatric care preferred.
• BSN required; MSN preferred.
• Current CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Direct and manage the delivery of quality psychiatric and chemical dependency nursing care on the Adult Nursing Units.
• Oversee PRN medications and document rationale and effectiveness.
• Report changes in patient condition to supervisor each shift.
• Coordinate family and physician notifications for ER transports, injuries, falls, or restraints.
• Collaborate on individualized care plans with the team.
• Perform treatments and therapies as ordered by physician.
• Document patient care, findings, and responses to nursing interventions.
• Document PRN medications given, reason and effect.
• Initiate emergency measures per CPR and resuscitation protocols.
• Participate in emergency crisis interventions.
• Maintain HIPAA confidentiality and provide non-judgmental, culturally sensitive care.

(A 2 WEEK ORIENTATION IS REQUIRED. MON- FRI 8:30A-5:00P)

Rockford Center is a 138-bed mental health facility located in Newark, DE, providing easy access to a full complement of inpatient and partial behavioral health programs for children and adolescents, adults, and older adults. Rockford is the only child inpatient behavioral health facility in DE, offers an experienced and tenured senior management team, and serves New Castle County and northern Maryland.

Position Summary

In this rewarding role you will direct and manage the delivery of quality psychiatric and chemical dependency nursing care on the Adult Nursing Units.

Responsibilites

• Conducts ongoing and individualized nursing care duties as assigned and as dictated by the patient's condition in accordance with physician orders and facility protocols.
• When administering PRN medications, assess for confirmed med for PRN, documents need (rationale) and its effectiveness in the medical record.
• Reports change in patient physical, mental status or episodes of seclusion or restraint to nurse manager or supervisor during each shift.
• Ensures family and physician notification is completed and documented if a patient is transported to Emergency Room, Injured, Falls or is Placed in Seclusion or Restraints.
• Collaborates with other team members in the development, implementation, and evaluation of an individualized plan of care.
• Performs treatments and therapies as ordered by physician in an appropriate and timely fashion.
• Documents patient care, findings, and psychosocial responses to nursing interventions.
• Documents PRN medications given, reason and effect
• Initiates emergency measures according to age appropriate CPR and client resuscitation protocols.
• Participates in emergency crisis interventions according to age appropriate techniques.
• Maintains confidentiality related to patient, family, client facility and staff in accordance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). Provides patient care in a non-judgmental, non-discriminatory manner that considers cultural diversity and age appropriateness so that autonomy, rights, and dignity are preserved.
