Job summary

Commonwealth of VA Careers seeks a professional to support Adult Services/Adult Protective Services (AS/APS). You will handle intake, collect information, meet walk-ins, and assign cases in PeerPlace.

This role requires strong documentation, communication, and crisis-awareness skills in a dynamic, public-sector setting. You will assess eligibility, provide emergency assistance referrals, maintain case files, and collaborate with clients and professionals to safeguard vulnerable adults.

Qualifications

• High school diploma with post-secondary coursework in social services or related field and relevant public admin experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Human Services or related field and at least two years in aging is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Respond to calls to the AS/APS Intake line and gather information in person or by phone.
• Meet with AS/APS walk-ins and link CPS walk-ins with CPS intake.
• Enter mandated information and assign AS/APS cases into PeerPlace.
• Provide referrals for community-based services and assist in completing required case contacts.
• Maintain case records and communicate with clients and professionals.
