Job summary

Devereux Massachusetts is seeking a Direct Support Professional to support adults with IDD/ASD in a 4-bed group home in Templeton, MA. You will coach and model skills to increase independence and build positive relationships with individuals, families, and coordinators.

The role requires a 21+ age, valid driver’s license, MAPS certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months), and a 2-week paid orientation in Rutland.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• High School diploma or GED required. Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Psychology, Social Work, or Special Education preferred.
• Previous experience working with individuals with IDD/ASD preferred.
• MAPS certified or able to obtain within 6 months of hire.
• Attend a 2-week paid orientation in Rutland, Monday-Friday, 8AM-4PM.

Responsibilities

• Coaching and assisting in hygiene routines, chore completion, meal preparation.
• Administration of medications and completion of required paperwork.
• Planning and facilitating recreational activities.
• Assisting with transportation and supporting individuals in working and achieving their goals.

Job description

We are looking for caring and compassionate people who want to work in a 4-bed group home setting with male adults (over the age of 22) with IDD/ASD.

The pay range for this position is $21.12 to $24.58 per hour, depending on education and experience.

Additional $250 bonus if MAP ceritifed.

Available Schedules

Sunday 7a - 11p (Double) and Tuesday 3p-11p

In our adult community group home in Templeton, individuals learn the skills needed for independent living and are encouraged to make meaningful life choices. As a Direct Support Professional, you are a teacher - coaching and demonstrating skills to increase individual’s independence; relationship builder - developing positive connections with individuals, their friends, families, and DDS service coordinators; and an environmental manager - monitoring the safety and security of the home and community.

Responsibilities may include coaching and assisting in hygiene routines, chore completion, meal preparation, administration of medications, completion of required paperwork, planning and facilitating recreational activities, assisting with transportation and supporting individuals in working and achieving their goals.
