Job summary

Coconino County Adult Probation Department seeks a dedicated professional to coordinate community service restitution and supervise probationers. The role focuses on placing probationers, developing programming, and collaborating with community organizations to support rehabilitation and successful court outcomes.

The position involves creating and implementing restorative and educational programming, building partnerships, and maintaining detailed case records to ensure compliance with court

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in human services or related field and one year of experience in employment placement, a social services program or a related field OR
  • Associate degree in human services or related field and two years of experience in employment placement, a social services program or a related field; OR
  • Three years of experience in employment placement, a social services program or a related field; OR
  • Any combination of education, training and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position

Nature of Work

Under general supervision performs work of moderate to considerable difficulty in assigning and placing probationers with completing court ordered community service; develops and implements department programming, community restitution programs, placements, and projects; performs related work as assigned.

Typical Duties

  • Coordinates and administers designated court program(s) (to include, but not limited to Community Restitution Program and MRT Programming, Internship Program)
  • Develops and conducts Restitution and/or training programs (to include but not limited to Young Adult Skills Development, Life Skills and Job Development Programming, and Arts Programming)
  • Coordinates and collaborates with community-based organizations, public agencies, coalitions, schools and other appropriate facilities to build and implement programs
  • Builds and sustains positive relationships to represent Adult Probation in the community for purposes of collaborating and supporting initiatives involving Probation and related issues
  • Prepares and disseminates informational program materials
  • May participate in the recruitment of volunteers, practicum students and interns
  • May supervise and train student employees, interns and/or volunteers
  • Prepares and maintains records and reports
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Essential functions include: driving; sitting; working with and around others, working alone; working with interruptions, repetitive motion (hand/wrist) computer work; vision acuity (near/far) computer work; hearing and speech for ordinary conversation.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in human services or related field; and one year of experience in employment placement, a social services program or a related field OR
  • Associate degree in in human services or related field and two years of experience in employment placement, a social services program or a related field; OR
  • Three years of experience in employment placement, a social services program or a related field; OR
  • Any combination of education, training and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Must possess or obtain a valid Arizona driver’s license by date of hire and maintain it throughout employment.
  • Must be a minimum of twenty-one (21) years of age.
  • Must successfully pass an extensive background investigation, fingerprinting, criminal history check, urinalysis screening, and driving records check through the Motor Vehicles Division.
  • Must complete a minimum of 16 hours of on-going education within the judicial system certified by the Committee on Judicial Education and Training (COJET) annually.

This position is safety sensitive.

This position is non-exempt from overtime.

This position is responsible for coordinating the Community Service Restitution. Community Service Restitution is condition of supervision ordered by the Courts. Community Service Restitution is responsible for assigning probationers to department CSR Work Crew or other agencies to perform hours in accordance with their court order.
