The Harrisonburg-Rockingham CSB is seeking a dedicated professional to provide community-based services for individuals with serious mental illness. This role involves managing a caseload, offering supportive counseling, and ensuring compliance with agency standards.
The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree in a related field and have skills in crisis intervention and client service. The position offers a starting salary of $43,315 annually, with regular office hours and some evening and weekend availability required.
Provides community based services for individuals with serious mental illness, some of whom have co-occurring disorders or disabilities. An emphasis is on securing and coordinating services to meet multiple needs of clients, providing support to families, and working with the CSB Community Liaison to assist clients with transition from local and state hospitals to community services. The position is supervised by the Adult Mental Health Case Management Supervisor. Regularly scheduled supervision is provided as well as consultation and assistance necessary to accomplish the work. This position requires the ability to work with considerable independence and sound judgment, willingness and ability to utilize supervision, and commitment to working with individuals whose needs may be challenging to meet.
Possession of a current, valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree required; additional education in human services or a related specialty and/or experience in a mental health, developmental disabilities, or substance use setting preferred; candidates must have a combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

Standard hazards associated with a mental health treatment environment including hazards associated with problem behaviors. Use of universal precautions required.
Monday through Friday, regular office hours; some evening and weekend hours may be required; additional hours as needed to perform job requirements. Regular and reliable attendance is required.
Full read/write access to protected health information (PHI), limited to the minimum necessary, for all clients directly served or assigned, as well as all clients indirectly served through case consultation, clinical supervision, program management, or coverage requirements. Staff at Level 2 are allowed to seek out client PHI as necessary to perform their assigned duties, but are expected to exercise due precautions to limit exposure to any PHI which is outside the scope of their need to know. Utilization of information will be in accordance with HIPAA regulations regarding use limitation, disclosure and requests of PHI.
$43,315 annually
Actual starting salary will be commensurate with the selected candidates’ education, experience, and qualifications.
