Adult Med-Surg Part-time Clinical Nursing Faculty - Southern CA

Chamberlain University is seeking Part-Time Clinical Instructors to teach in our Bachelor of Science in Nursing program at our Irwindale, CA campus. This on-site role involves mentoring students in inpatient clinical settings, connecting classroom learning with real-world patient care, and ensuring students are prepared and confident as healthcare professionals.

Clinical sessions are scheduled in the Thousand Oaks area, with a commitment of one 12-hour night shift per week for each 8-week session at our clinical partner sites.

Responsibilities

• Implement the college's philosophy, curriculum, and course objectives through clinical teaching and community engagement.
• Plan and supervise clinical experiences, evaluate student performance, and provide feedback.
• Maintain current knowledge of agency policies and develop clinical assignments tailored to student needs.
• Contribute to program development and possibly teach didactic content under supervision.
• Collaborate with college staff and participate in assessment and retention efforts.
• Serve as a professional role model, uphold regulatory standards, and perform related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Master's in Nursing (MSN) or DNP/PhD in nursing from a regionally accredited institution.
• Unencumbered California nursing license.
• Active BLS certification.
• Minimum of two years of professional nursing experience within the last five years, with some instructional experience preferred but not required.

Additional Information

The compensation rate is $65 per hour for the first 8 hours per day, with overtime at $97.50 per hour for hours over 8 per day. Our team is available to discuss salary requirements and answer questions.
