Job description

Adult Inpatient Psychiatrist Needed - Brooklyn, NY

Community teaching hospital in Brooklyn, New York, is seeking an Adult Psychiatrist to work on its inpatient behavioral health unit. The psychiatrist will have an average patient load of 10-12 patients and will perform evaluations, medication management, risk assessments, and develop treatment plans. The patient base consists of an underserved adult population presenting with various mental health and dual diagnosis issues, including low socioeconomic status and MICA patients.

The hospital offers a continuum of care, including acute, medical, surgical, gynecological, pediatric, and psychiatric inpatient and outpatient services, along with emergency services and patient-focused education and prevention programs in both inpatient and ambulatory settings. The Behavioral Health department comprises 3 inpatient units with 30 beds each, with an average length of stay of 14-20 days.

This position is Monday through Friday, with voluntary call available, which pays above the regular salary. The hospital provides a full benefits package.
