Compass Health Center in Falls Church, VA is seeking an Adult Group Therapist to lead evidence-based groups (CBT, DBT, ACT) for adults 18+ and some 12+ capacity. The role focuses on crisis intervention, treatment planning, and family coaching in a collaborative, onsite setting.

Launch January with five weeks of training, then full-time, on-site work at our Falls Church location. Requires psychology Doctorate or Master’s license in VA, 1+ year post‑Master’s experience, strong CBT/DBT skills.

Weekly outpatient therapy isn't always enough, and a trip to the ER isn't the only answer. Patients and their families rely on CompassHealth Center when in crisis – every day, we help people overcome depression, anxiety, suicidality, obsessions/compulsions, trauma, chronic pain, and other obstacles in order for our patients to live freely.

This interdisciplinary team of trailblazers will build our adolescent and adult programs from the ground up alongside the leadership of well-established clinicians and doctors working in PHP/IOP behavioral health care for the past decade.

As an Adult Group Therapist, you will spend the majority of your time with our patients facilitating evidence based groups using modalities like CBT, DBT, and ACT. We are seeking new and experienced clinicians with a passion for delivering dynamic and informative groups for our patients. This role will work with patients aged 18+ (and flexibility to support 12+) in our Mood & Anxiety Program, while also offering the opportunity to be cross-trained within our Adult specialty programs and services: Trauma, OCD/Complex Anxiety, MentalHealth and Substance Use.

Please note that this role is set to start in mid January and will consist of 5 weeks of training prior to launching for patients, and will be 100% onsite at our Falls Church location.

What You'll Do:

• Developing and implementing DBT/CBT skill groups
• Providing crisis intervention and staff support, as needed
• Developing and documenting treatment plans and weekly update
• Co-facilitating creative expression and other experiential therapeutic groups
• Assisting program director in supporting families through phone coaching and follow-up calls
• Checking in with treatment team about changes and progress for individual patients
• Providing clinical observations and insights during interdisciplinary meetings
• Providing individual support to patients, as needed
• Providing support to other team members in various treatment groups
• Providing guidance and support for milieu staff during skills and executive functioning therapy activities/instruction
• Other duties, as assigned

Who You Are:

• Psychologist or Master's level therapist
• Hold or be eligible for a Master's level provisional or independent clinical license in Virginia
• 1 + year of post-Master's clinical experience, or a relevant Master's level internship
• Possess a core skill set of Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)
• Experience with patients in crisis, and a strong passion for working within high acuity environments
