This open competitive advertisement is for a Career Service position located at Walton Correctional Institution in the Education Department. This position is for an Adult Basic Education/GED® Instructor responsible for delivery of instruction in Math/Science, Reading-Language Arts and Social Studies through a blended instructional model.
The purpose of the Adult Education Teacher in the Bureau of Education at the Florida Department of Corrections is to provide comprehensive educational programs and services to inmates that enhance their academic, vocational, and life skills, promote personal development, and support successful reintegration into society by reducing recidivism and fostering productive, law‑abiding citizenship.
This position is not a telework position and is required to report to the FDC office in the area it serves.
The incumbent in this position is responsible for teaching assigned academic subjects to students at a correctional institution/facility. Duties include, but are not limited to the following:
