Job summary

Meriden Adult Education is seeking a qualified and enthusiastic ABE Math Teacher to deliver math instruction to adult learners aiming to improve math skills and prepare for the GED exam.

Schedule: Wednesdays & Thursdays, 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Maloney High School. Compensation: $45.96 per hour. This is a part-time Adult Education position.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching mathematics, preferably to adult learners.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively with students from diverse backgrounds.
• Experience in adult education and/or GED preparation is preferred.
• Must hold or be actively pursuing Connecticut Adult Education certification, endorsement 107.

• Prepare students for the mathematics portion of the GED test, as appropriate.

• Communicate with Adult Education staff regarding student progress and program needs.
