Job summary

Heritage-Home in Michigan is seeking a Direct Support Professional for our Daytime Enrichment Program serving adults with developmental and physical disabilities at Allendale and Coopersville. You will assist with personal care, feeding, and daily living activities, and help run engaging activities in both community and facility settings.

The role requires a valid Michigan driver’s license, reliability, and flexibility to cover 8am–4pm, Monday–Friday, at least part-time. Paid training provided.

Qualifications

• Be over 18 years old and hold a valid Michigan driver’s license.
• Demonstrate reliability, trustworthiness and good attendance.
• Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screen, TB test and MSP check.
• High school diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Engage consumers in active and passive participation.
• Provide direct care including personal care, feeding and daily living tasks.
• Assist with development of activities and community-based or facility-based programs.
• Transport consumers as required using agency vehicles and follow safety protocols.

We are hiring energetic, creative staff for our Daytime Enrichment Program, based in Allendale and Coopersville!Our Day Program in Allendale and Coopersville meets the needs of a very special population, serving adults with intellectual, developmental and physical disabilities, who also have significant ongoing therapeutic, medical and sensory needs. Staff are responsible for providing a range of care needs, including but not limited to, physical therapy and occupational health associated goals. Many of our clients are dependent on staff to provide them with assistance in personal care, feeding and various other daily living skills.As our program grows, we continue to build a team of staff that are compassionate and creative and able to engage individuals in meaningful activities, with both active and passive participants. Staff are also responsible for helping with the development of activities, including both community based integration and facility based activities to meet the needs of all individuals served.These positions provide valuable experience in the field for anyone seeking future professions/careers in Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Speech Language Pathology, Autism/Behavior Analysis, Psychology and Social Work. It is also a rewarding experience for anyone that has a passion for service and a heart for this special population.Hours of Day Program operation are approximately 8am-4pm Monday through Friday. Currently hiring for part time positions. Must be able to work at both locations. (On occasion, hours outside of 8am-4pm may be required for training and/or meetings.)Compensation Details:Direct Support Professional, no experience - $18.80/hour($15.40 base wage + $3.40 hero pay*)Higher pay possible with experience in Direct Support.*Hero pay (state wage passthrough) does not apply to benefit time pay.Paid training.
