Job summary

Family United Adult Day Center is seeking a dependable Driver for part-time split shifts to ensure safe, on-time transport of participants to and from the center. The role requires compassionate interaction with seniors, monitoring participants during transit, and maintaining vehicle safety and cleanliness.

The driver will operate wheelchair-accessible vehicles, assist with mobility devices, and adhere to all safety procedures while representing the program's mission and values.

Qualifications

• Possess a valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Comfortable driving wheelchair-accessible vehicles and assisting with mobility devices.
• Ability to work split shifts and reliably transport participants.
• Patient and compassionate with seniors and adults with disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport participants between homes and the Adult Day Center, including using wheelchair-accessible vehicles and lifts.
• Assist participants with boarding/exiting and mobility devices, maintaining safety throughout transport.
• Perform daily vehicle inspections and ensure vehicles are clean and fueled; report maintenance concerns.
• Communicate delays, concerns, or changes to the Program Coordinator and document transportation details as required.

Family United Adult Day Center is looking for a dependable, compassionate, and safety-focused Driver to join our team!

Our Driver plays an important role in making sure our participants arrive safely, comfortably, and on time while receiving the care, patience, and respect they deserve.

Help our participants travel safely, comfortably, and with the care they deserve.

Safe Transportation

• Safely transport participants between their homes and the Adult Day Center
• Operate wheelchair-accessible vehicles safely and responsibly
• Assist participants with boarding and exiting the vehicle
• Safely operate wheelchair lifts and properly secure wheelchairs
• Assist participants using walkers, canes, and other mobility devices
• Follow all transportation and safety procedures

Participant Assistance & Customer Service

• Provide patient, compassionate assistance throughout transportation
• Maintain professional and respectful relationships with participants, families, and caregivers
• Monitor participants during transportation and respond appropriately to concerns
• Represent Family United’s mission, values, and commitment to quality care

Vehicle Care

• Complete daily interior and exterior vehicle inspections
• Keep assigned vehicles clean and fueled
• Immediately report maintenance concerns or vehicle malfunctions
• Assist with coordinating routine vehicle maintenance as directed

Communication & Compliance

• Promptly report delays, transportation concerns, incidents, or participant changes to the Program Coordinator
• Properly document transportation information and incidents as required
• Follow agency policies, safety procedures, and applicable transportation requirements
