Job description

Reports to: Aleph Program Manager

Primary Responsibility:

The Aleph Adult Day Center Activities Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising a comprehensive program of recreational, educational, and cultural activities for older adults attending the day center. This role encourages engagement, promotes physical and emotional well-being, and enhances the quality of life for participants.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and lead a variety of daily, weekly, and monthly activities, including recreational, educational, social, cultural, and wellness-focused programs.
  • Assess participants’needs, interests, and abilities to ensure inclusive and meaningful experiences.
  • Coordinate with community partners, volunteers, and guest facilitators to expand programming offerings.
  • Develop and maintain a monthly activity calendar and ensure timely communication to participants and families.
  • Support participants during activities, ensuring safety, inclusion, and enjoyment.
  • Collaborate with staff and caregivers to monitor participant engagement and adjust programming as needed.
  • Assist in special events, holiday celebrations.
  • Follow organizational policies, health and safety protocols, and all relevant regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Recreation Therapy, Human Services, Social Work, Gerontology, or a related field (preferred).
  • Minimum of 1–2 years of experience working with older adults in a group or care setting.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
