West Virginia University Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute and the Department of Behavioral Medicine and Psychiatry in the WVU School of Medicine seek a Neuropsychologist or Psychologist qualified for appointment at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor rank. The successful candidate will be expected to practice in Morgantown, WV.
The position will include research, clinical, and teaching/supervision responsibilities. This position has a strong research component which includes overseeing the conduct of several behavioral medicine related studies. Research protocols primarily involve investigations of various forms of neuromodulation on populations such as those with substance use disorder and other behavioral medicine related conditions. Specific research responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: consenting, assessing, and evaluating patients for study inclusion; overseeing research staff including research coordinators/assistants, peer recovery support specialists, case managers; interfacing with regulatory agencies including the IRB, FDA, and NIH; assisting with the development of protocols, manuscripts, and grant proposals; assisting with data analysis and interpretation.
Clinical responsibilities focus on neuropsychological and/or psychological evaluations of a rich variety of neurological, neurosurgical, medical and psychiatric populations. This position also includes teaching and supervision expectations within our well-known, training-focused APA-accredited clinical psychology internship which has a neuropsychology focus and our APPCN postdoctoral fellowship in clinical neuropsychology. Additional teaching opportunities exist with medical students and residents within the department and broader Health Sciences Center on topics relevant to psychology/neuropsychology.
Qualifications: Neuropsychologist
Neuropsychology applicants must have completed an APA/CPA accredited clinical psychology graduate program, with an APA/CPA accredited internship with a neuropsychology focus, and a 2-year postdoctoral fellowship in clinical neuropsychology. Applicants must be eligible to sit for ABPP in clinical neuropsychology. Immediate eligibility for state licensure is required. For appointment at the Professor rank, Board Certification (ABPP) in neuropsychology is required. All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.
Qualifications: Psychologist
Psychology applicants must have a PhD or PsyD in clinical psychology from an APA/CPA-accredited graduate program with an APA/CPA-approved internship and be immediately eligible for state licensure. For appointment at the Associate Professor or Professor rank, Board Certification (ABPP) as well as a demonstrated track-record of leadership, clinical and teaching excellence and scholarly activity are required. All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.
