Job summary

Ashley Furniture Industries, LLC is seeking a skilled Diesel Technician in Colton, CA to maintain, diagnose and repair a fleet of trailers ensuring safe transportation operations. The role offers a Sun-Thu 1:30pm-10pm schedule with pay in the $30-$40 per hour range.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, 2+ years in trailer maintenance, and knowledge of air brakes and electrical systems. CDL is preferred but not required; a valid driver's license is necessary.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2+ years of trailer maintenance and repair experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of air brake and electrical trailer systems.
• Ability to use diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Welding and fabrication skills are a plus.
• CDL is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and inspections on trailers including brakes, lights, tires, and suspension systems.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues and perform necessary repairs.
• Conduct DOT inspections and ensure trailers meet safety and compliance standards.
• Maintain accurate service records and documentation.
• Perform welding and fabrication work as needed; replace and repair trailer doors, hinges, flooring, and other structural components.
• Service and repair refrigeration units on temperature-controlled trailers (if applicable).
• Collaborate with transportation team to prioritize repair schedules and minimize downtime.

Diesel Technician

Location: Colton, CA

Schedule: (Sun - Thurs 1:30pm -10pm)

We are seeking a skilled Trailer Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing our fleet of trailers to ensure safe and efficient transportation operations.

Work Environment

This position is located in an active industrial manufacturing and distribution center with moderate to high noise levels, temperature variations, and material handling equipment in operation. The role may require extended periods of standing or walking on concrete floors and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses and steel-toed boots. The fast-paced environment involves time-sensitive and safety sensitive operations and may include various shift schedules to support production and distribution needs.
