Snap Inc. is seeking a Senior Principal Software Engineer to lead the Ads Quality direction within the Ads Platform, focusing on Ads Marketplace.

Qualifications

• Deep expertise in ads marketplace optimization and interactions across bidding, pacing, auctions, ranking, and user experience.
• Strong foundations in algorithms, optimization, statistics, and distributed systems for real-time production environments.
• Excellent programming and software design, including debugging, performance analysis, and testing of highly available systems.
• Ability to translate ambiguous problems into strategy, objectives, and executable roadmaps across teams.
• Experience leading technical direction and complex engineering initiatives across multiple teams.

Responsibilities

• Set multi-year strategy and architecture for Ads Marketplace, aligning bidding, pacing, auctions, inventory, and ad reranking.
• Design scalable bidding, budgeting, and pacing algorithms for effective spend and predictable delivery.
• Advance auction mechanisms, pricing, and allocation to improve advertiser value and marketplace efficiency.
• Lead inventory and traffic optimization to balance monetization with user engagement.
• Develop ad reranking and slate optimization considering relevance, diversity, and UX impact.
• Establish experimentation standards to measure marketplace impact and protect outcomes.
