Job summary

OpenAI is seeking a Data Scientist for Ads Demand to build the measurement foundation for demand health, advertiser value, and growth across the marketplace. You will partner with Ads Sales, Ads Product, Marketing Science, and cross-functional teams to diagnose performance, set benchmarks, and translate feedback into product priorities.

You will own the end-to-end view of advertiser outcomes, define metrics, and develop early-warning signals to surface under-delivery and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of data science/analytics in ads or performance-focused B2B.
• Strong SQL and Python or R; expertise in measurement, experimentation, causal inference.
• Excellent cross-functional communication with sales and product leaders.
• Hands-on in tackling ambiguous 0-to-1 problems.

Responsibilities

• Define demand health metrics and measurement strategy across spend, advertisers, delivery, and mix.
• Own advertiser outcomes: ROAS, conversion, retention, budget efficiency and benchmarks.
• Translate analyses into advertiser-facing insights and best practices.
• Forecast impact of strategies, segment demand, and inform investments.
