Lockheed Martin in Palmdale, CA, seeks a manufacturing engineer to develop and implement processes, layouts, and automation strategies for assemblies and equipment installation.

You will optimize manufacturing using 3D model data, digital work instructions, and IoT-enabled performance tracking to drive efficiency, cost reduction, and quality. A background in lean manufacturing and cross-functional collaboration is valued, along with PLM system experience.

• Experience in a manufacturing environment working cross functionally with other disciplines including industrial engineering, planning, scheduling, Quality Assurance &/or production operations.
• Experience supporting vehicle systems installations & integration into a final product. Experience should include some combination of the following systems: electrical harness installation, fuel systems, hydraulic systems, propulsion systems, avionics, and related systems
• Experience with lean manufacturing and process improvements
• Active Secret security clearance with an investigation within the last 5 years AND Ability to obtain special program access

• Provide input to product design regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelors degree required to apply
• Experience in a manufacturing environment working cross functionally with other disciplines including industrial engineering, planning, scheduling, Quality Assurance &/or production operations.

Desired Skills

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or other related technical field
• Experience leading a small technical team
• Experience with various PLM systems including SAP, iBase-t (Solumina), Teamcenter, and/or SFM
• Experience supporting various projects and coordinating activities related to the full life cycle of projects from conception to delivery
• Working knowledge of one or more organizations including: Operations, IT, Planning, Production Control, ERP, MRP, Quality or systems integration.
• Demonstrated ability to drive issues to closure and develop preventative action plan to limit failures in the future.
• Demonstrated ability to solve logistical issues and lead efforts to drive mission success.
• Demonstrated understanding of engineering blueprints, process specifications and manufacturing planning.
• Previous experience incorporating model based engineering into manufacturing plans. Experience with MRP system or SAP or other Manufacturing Execution System (MES) application
• Experience working with fighter aircraft in a manufacturing environment
• Experience with Catia

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $118000.00 - $219100.00

• For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
