Job summary

American General Life Insurance Company invites candidates for the Actuarial Development Program to rotate through key actuarial areas in Houston, TX (with options in Jersey City, NJ or Woodland Hills, CA). The program builds broad experience across valuation, product development, asset‑liability management and experience analysis.

Participants develop analytical and problem‑solving skills, complete SOA exams, and gain mentoring within a collaborative team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, economics, finance, or other quantitative field.
  • Completion of one or more SOA exams.
  • Prior internship experience preferred.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Strong analytical problem‑solving skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Familiarity with MS Office especially Access and Excel.
  • Programming skill in SAS, Python, Visual Basic, SQL, or C++ a plus, but not required.

Who You’ll Work With

As an ADP Actuarial Assistant, you will be part of our Actuarial Development Program where you begin as a student that will rotate into various positions throughout the actuarial departments in order to gain a wide range of knowledge and experiences that can be leveraged throughout the Actuary’s career. Although not every rotation path is the same for every student, common roles often include, but are not limited to, Valuation, Product Development, Asset‑Liability Management, and Experience Analysis.

Compensation

The anticipated salary range for this position is $72,000 - $115,000 at the commencement of employment. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. The actual compensation offered will ultimately be dependent on multiple factors, which may include the candidate’s geographic location, skills, experience and other qualifications. In addition, the position is eligible for a discretionary bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.

Work Location

This position is based in Corebridge Financial’s Houston, TX, Jersey City, NJ, or Woodland Hills, CA office and is subject to our hybrid working policy, which gives colleagues the benefits of working both in an office and remotely.
