Manager: Executive Director

Position type: Volunteer, part-time

Hours: 15-20 hours per week

Scheduled: Varied, will include some evenings and weekends

About Cascade Beagle Rescue

Cascade Beagle Rescue is a mission-driven organization dedicated to rescuing and rehoming beagles in need that has been in operation since 2005. Our mission is to take unwanted, neglected, abused, homeless beagles, and beagles at risk of euthanasia and provide them with emotional, medical, and behavioral support so that they can be adopted into loving permanent homes.We work closely with community partners, foster families, and adopters to ensure that every beagle finds a safe and loving home.

Position Summary

The Adoption Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the adoption process from start to finish. This includes identifying adoptable beagles, working with foster families, arranging necessary veterinary care, and screening potential adopters to ensure the best match for each dog. This position requires excellent organizational and communication skills, a passion for animal welfare, and the ability to collaborate with a team of volunteers and community partners.

Key Responsibilities

• Adoption Coordination: Manage the intake and adoption process for rescued beagles, ensuring they are placed in loving, responsible homes.
• Foster Family Support: In cooperation with the Volunteer Coordinator, recruit, train, and support foster families, ensuring they have the necessary resources and guidance to care for the dogs.
• Community Outreach: Work with shelters, rescues, and community partners to identify beagles in need of rescue and placement.
• Veterinary Coordination: Arrange necessary medical care, including vaccinations, spay/neuter procedures, and any additional treatments required for fostered dogs.
• Adopter Screening & Placement: Review adoption applications, conduct interviews and home visits, and approve suitable families for adoption.
• Record-Keeping & Communication: Maintain detailed records of each dog’s journey from rescue to adoption and provide ongoing support to adopters.
• Collaboration & Teamwork: Work closely with other volunteers and organizational leadership to ensure smooth operations and effective adoption placements.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Passion for animal rescue.
• Experience with the beagle breed.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Experience in animal welfare, rescue, or adoption services is a plus.
• Access to reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Access to vehicle with current insurance, current drivers license, clean driving record
• General computer knowledge so that records can be input into database
