Job summary

BCG Attorney Search in Dallas seeks an Adoption Attorney to lead complex adoption cases under Texas law, delivering permanent family solutions with courtroom presence.

The ideal candidate holds a Texas license, 2+ years in Texas Family Law (5+ years in adoption preferred), and proficiency with Clio and TxDoc.

This role offers a hybrid work model, a supportive team, and a platform to practice at a high level with dedicated staff.

Qualifications

• Texas bar in good standing with at least 2 years of practice.
• 2+ years of Texas Family Law litigation experience; 5+ years in adoption preferred.
• Experience drafting adoption petitions, pleadings, and discovery.

Responsibilities

• Lead adoption cases under the Texas Family Code for private, agency, stepparent, foster care, and international matters.
• Represent clients in Harris County and surrounding courts during termination of parental rights and finalization hearings.
• Conduct hearings, mediations, and consultations with expertise in Texas adoption laws and regulations.
• Provide empathetic representation to families throughout emotional proceedings.

Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Adoption Attorney in Dallas, TX. This role is ideal for a courtroom-ready advocate passionate about securing permanent solutions for families. The firm offers a supportive platform, allowing attorneys to focus on practicing law at the highest level without the administrative burdens of solo or small-firm practice.

Duties

• Lead private, agency, stepparent, foster care, and international adoption cases under the Texas Family Code.
• Represent clients in Harris County and surrounding courts during termination of parental rights and finalization hearings.
• Conduct hearings, mediations, and consults with expertise in Texas adoption laws and regulations.
• Provide empathetic representation to families during emotional and rewarding chapters.

Requirements

• Valid Texas bar license for a minimum of 2 years.
• At least 2 years of dedicated Texas Family Law litigation experience, with a focus on adoption procedures (5+ years preferred).
• Strong courtroom presence and ability to manage a busy docket with care and composure.
• Experience in drafting adoption petitions, agreements, pleadings, and discovery with attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Clio, TxDoc, Google Suite, or similar software.

Education

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

Licensed to practice law in Texas.
