Job summary

NaphCare is seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) in Florence, Arizona to lead the nursing team at AZ DOC - ASPC Eyman. The role reports to the Director of Nursing and collaborates with correctional and medical staff to deliver high-quality care in a secure environment.

The ADON will manage staffing, ensure regulatory compliance, supervise clinical rounds, and participate in ongoing training and performance evaluations.

Qualifications

• Holds a current, unrestricted License as a Registered Nurse in Arizona.
• Active BLS CPR Certification (AHA preferred).
• Two years of clinical and progressive management experience in correctional or acute care settings.
• Ability to manage complex staffing matrices and clinical supplies.
• Excellent communication skills with proven experience managing and training medical staff.

Responsibilities

• Supervise nursing staff and ensure policies and procedures are followed.
• Assist DON in managing staff, staffing, hiring, training, and evaluations.
• Coordinate patient care with internal and external providers.
• Monitor compliance with ACA, NCCHC standards and site policies.
• Create and manage staffing schedules for all shifts.
• Ensure stocked pharmaceuticals and medical supplies are available.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
• Develop staff through in-service training.
• Conduct daily clinical rounds to review care plans and documentation.
• Assist in triage, minor procedures, and patient assessments.
• Participate in monthly, quarterly, and annual meetings as required.
