Job summary

Universal Health Services in Spokane is seeking a Tutor/Teacher Assistant to provide academic, technological, and classroom support to adolescent patients enrolled in educational programs during behavioral health treatment.

You will monitor virtual learning participation, assist with assignments and study skills, and help maintain a safe, structured, therapeutic environment while coordinating with school staff and virtual providers to ensure educational continuity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Social Work, Human Services, Child Development, Behavioral Science, Counseling, Special Education, or a related field.
• Associate degree with relevant experience working with adolescents in behavioral health, psychiatric, educational, residential treatment, or related settings may be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
• 1-3 years of experience working with adolescents in behavioral health or related environments is required.
• Experience facilitating groups, supporting educational activities, and working within a multidisciplinary treatment team is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise adolescent patients during educational programming, virtual learning, and independent study activities.
• Maintain a safe, structured, and therapeutic learning environment.
• Monitor attendance, participation, engagement, and behavior.
• Use behavior management and de-escalation techniques per facility policies.
