Job summary

The Door is an unparalleled model for youth development, offering a comprehensive range of integrated services in a single NYC site for nearly 10,000 youth annually. The Therapist provides individual and group psychotherapy and case management to adolescents with significant mental health needs, addressing trauma, homelessness, and substance use within a culturally competent framework.

Qualifications

• LCSW or LMSW license is required.
• Minimum of two years of clinical experience in adolescent development/mental health.
• Knowledge of positive youth development and social service systems.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary treatment team.
• Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.
• 35 hours per week; some evening shifts may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group psychotherapy and case management to at-risk adolescents.
• Formulate treatment plans and psychosocial evaluations; document each contact.
• Provide crisis intervention and coordinate with schools, juvenile justice, ACS and foster care.
• Coordinate mental health assessments and track outcomes using measures.
• Facilitate workshops and trainings for youth and agency staff.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
