Job summary

Gateway Rehab is seeking an Adolescent Therapist to facilitate therapy and perform case management for our Youth Program in Center Township, PA. The role involves assessments, daily individual and group therapy, and collaboration with families and providers.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s Degree and experience in behavioral health; PA background checks and clearances are required. The position supports a dynamic program committed to empowering youth and maintaining confidentiality in care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a behavioral health field preferred.
• Experience in a behavioral health environment is preferred.
• Ability to conduct individual and group therapy and perform case management.

Responsibilities

• Completes initial assessments upon admission.
• Conducts individual and group therapy sessions daily.
• Completes treatment plans with patients and reviews every 2 weeks.
• Provides patient psychoeducation as scheduled.
• Completes progress notes and group notes for patient charts.
• Coordinates with insurance companies and providers for continuing care reviews.
• Performs case management duties including discharge planning and transfers.
• Transports patients as necessary and participates in treatment team meetings.
• Assesses and reports patient abuse and neglect, conducts urine screens as needed.

Gateway Rehab Centers (GRC) is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Adolescent Therapist to facilitate therapy and perform case management for our Youth Program in Center Township, PA.

Responsibilities

• Completes initial assessments upon admission.
• Conduct individual and group therapy sessions daily.
• Completes treatment plans with patients and reviews every 2 weeks.
• Provide patient psychoeducation as scheduled.
• Completes progress notes and group notes for patient charts.
• Makes contacts for collateral information.
• Contacts insurance companies and other providers for continuing care reviews.
• Transports patients as necessary.
• Supervises adolescent patients as necessary.
• Intervenes in crises with patients.
• Perform case management duties: evaluating and documenting patient progress, discharge summaries, continuing care planning, and coordination of transfers.
• Facilitate daily shift reports and participate in treatment team meetings.
• Attends consultation and supervision sessions, training, and staff meetings.
• Assists with developing program curriculum materials for group sessions.
• Assesses and appropriately reports patient abuse and neglect.
• Conducts searches and urine screens as necessary.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with patients, families, and other professionals.
• Understands the nature of addiction, including its psychological, physiological, and social aspects.
• Ability to conduct thorough assessments to diagnose substance use disorders and/or co-occurring conditions.
• Ability to provide individual and/or group therapy to help patients understand their addiction and develop coping strategies.
• Skilled at analyzing complex situations and making sound decisions regarding treatment and intervention strategies.
• Has the capacity to manage personal stress and maintain professionalism in challenging situations.
• Ability to uphold strict confidentiality to protect patients’ privacy.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree
• One year’s experience in a behavioral health environment preferred.

Additional Requirements

• Pass a PA Criminal Background Check
• Obtain PA Child Abuse and FBI Fingerprinting Clearances
• Obtain CPR/First Aid certification.
• This position requires mandatory staffing coverage when necessary to provide a safe treatment environment for Gateway patients
• Valid driver’s license and favorable driving record required.
