Job Overview

Skyland Trail, a nonprofit mental health residential treatment program for adults and adolescents in Atlanta, is seeking an Adolescent Residential Counselor PRN.

Scope

To provide supervision, education, training, and various support services to clients and clinical staff of the Adolescent Program.

Shifts
  • 1st Shift: 7:00 am - 3:30 pm
  • 2nd Shift: 3:00 pm - 11:30 pm
  • 3rd Shift: 11:00 pm - 7:30 am
Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical, residential, program support, and supervision to clients.
  • Monitor and document clients' behavior, location, progress; communicate needs or concerns to the clinical team.
  • Complete shift change summaries and document pertinent information regarding resiliency goals, behavioral concerns, and progress.
  • Assist clients with activities of daily living, interpersonal, and social skills.
  • Complete incident reports and ensure safety and cleanliness of client rooms.
  • Transport clients for off-campus activities and appointments, ensuring safety and vehicle maintenance.
  • Conduct residential groups, facilitate client activities, and support community meetings.
  • Co-facilitate therapy sessions with clinicians when requested.
  • Ensure safety procedures are followed, conduct emergency preparedness, and maintain facility standards.
  • Assist in crisis situations and ensure continuous communication and safety protocols are followed.
  • Provide superior customer service and complete required training annually.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or related field, or 2 years of clinical experience.
  • Preferred: Master's degree and licensure or license-eligible clinician status.
Competencies
  • CPI Certification, crisis management, group development, emergency procedures, clinical documentation, adolescent development, and knowledge of mental health diagnoses such as Anxiety, OCD, and Mood Disorders.
