Baptist Health is the largest healthcare system serving central Alabama, providing hospital-based and outpatient services to nearly 60 percent of residents in Montgomery, Autauga, and Elmore counties. The Registered Nurse will supervise and coordinate nursing personnel on shift, including weekends and holidays, to ensure quality and continuity of patient care. The RN will utilize the nursing process in patient assessments, planning of care, and performance of care interventions. This role involves collaboration with physicians and other healthcare clinicians in the planning and implementation of patient care. Additional duties may be assigned within the scope of the role.
Degree in Nursing required; BSN degree preferred.
Active RN licensure required; BLS required. Additional certifications (ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC, etc.) may be required depending upon the assigned area.
Position requires sitting for ~20% of the workday and mobility ~80% of the workday. There is occasional stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching. Repetitive hand actions and use of hands are frequent. Occasional lifting or carrying up to 50 pounds, pushing/pulling up to 150 pounds. Continuous need for clear speech and hearing in person or by phone. Visual acuity at close and distant range. Work environment is indoors with minimal temperature variation and generally low noise. Significant computer work. Occasional exposure to electrical shock, infectious disease, hazardous chemicals, and radiation.
