Job summary

Houston Behavioral Healthcare Hospital in Houston, TX seeks a full-time Adolescent Registered Nurse for the day shift 7am-7pm with rotating weekends to care for patients aged 13-17.

The RN will ensure appropriate patient care on units, collaborate with medical staff, and maintain a safe milieu. Daily duties include patient assessments, rounding, medication management, accurate documentation, milieu management, crisis intervention, and health education for patients and families.

Qualifications

• Must be a Texas-licensed RN.
• Graduation from an accredited Nursing Program is required.
• 1 year of experience in a behavioral healthcare setting preferred.
• CPR and SAMA certifications to be attained during new hire orientation.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient assessments and rounding.
• Manage medication administration and documentation.
• Maintain milieu safety and participate in crisis intervention.

Houston Behavioral Healthcare Hospital is currently recruiting for full-time Adolescent Registered Nurses for the day shift 7am-7pm with rotating weekends, to work with adolescent ages 13 to 17.

The Nurse is responsible for ensuring appropriate level of patient care on units and maintaining safety of the milieu. Works collaboratively with other medical staff and other patient care personnel in maintaining standards of professional nursing practice in the clinical setting. Promotes a supportive, team-work oriented environment.

Daily duties include Patient Assessments, Patient Rounding, Medication Management, Accurate documentation, Milieu Management, team leadership skills, crisis intervention, health education to patients/families.

Requirements

• Licensure: Currently licensed as an RN to practice, as issued by the Texas State Board of Nursing.
• Education: Graduation from an accredited Nursing Program
• Experience: 1 year experience in behavioral healthcare setting
• Certifications: CPR/SAMA must be attained during new hire orientation.
