Job summary

Hartford HealthCare's Natchaug Hospital Journey House is seeking a Mental Health Worker to provide therapeutic interventions for adolescent girls in a specialized residential setting. You will work as part of an interdisciplinary team, following individualized treatment plans and helping with discharge planning.

Responsibilities include leading client groups, monitoring safety, collecting vital signs, and coordinating transports to appointments and external programs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2 years related experience required.
• Current CT Driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Must be available to work every other weekend.
• Must have and maintain a telephone number for scheduling.
• Computer proficiency required.

Responsibilities

• Carries out client treatment interventions in accordance with individualized treatment plans.
• Observes, intervenes and documents client behavioral and physical response to therapeutic interventions.
• Interacts with clients considering age-related and psychiatric needs of the population served.
• Leads and co-leads client groups.
• Assist in behavioral client interventions and monitors the milieu to maintain safety.
• Provides clients with an orientation to the unit and safeguards belongings.
• Collects and records vital signs and client data (weight, BP, etc.).
• Utilizes approved physical intervention techniques and conducts escorts/seclusions as needed.
• Provides transport for clients to and from internal/external programs and coordinates movement.
• Focused on personal, patient and unit/staff safety
