• Perform functional, system, integration, regression, end-to-end, and user acceptance testing.
• Validate distribution operations workflows involving SCADA, outage management, distribution management, switching, network models, and related grid functions.
• Log, track, retest, and document defects; partner with technical teams, business users, and vendors through resolution.
• Validate interfaces and data exchanges between ADMS and connected utility systems such as GIS, SCADA, OMS, AMI, or other OT applications.
• Maintain traceability among requirements, test cases, execution results, and defects.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS) Test Engineer to support the testing, validation, and deployment of a GE ADMS environment and related GE utility tools. The ideal candidate will combine utility domain knowledge with disciplined software testing practices to help ensure the reliability, functionality, and operational readiness of critical distribution applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, document, and execute test plans, test cases, test scripts, and test scenarios for ADMS applications and related GE tools.
• Perform functional, system, integration, regression, end-to-end, and user acceptance testing.
• Validate distribution operations workflows involving SCADA, outage management, distribution management, switching, network models, and related grid functions.
• Create, maintain, and organize test assets using qTest or a comparable test management platform.
• Log, track, retest, and document defects; partner with technical teams, business users, and vendors through resolution.
• Validate interfaces and data exchanges between ADMS and connected utility systems such as GIS, SCADA, OMS, AMI, or other enterprise and operational technology applications.
• Review business and technical requirements to develop complete, traceable test coverage.
• Support release validation, system upgrades, production-readiness activities, and post-deployment verification.
• Work with distribution operators, electrical engineers, application teams, and vendors to translate real-world operating scenarios into test cases.
• Maintain clear traceability among requirements, test cases, execution results, and defects.

Required Qualifications

• Hands-on experience testing, implementing, configuring, or supporting GE ADMS, GE GridOS ADMS, GE EMS, GE DMS, GE OMS, or related GE utility applications, is preferred.
• Experience with electric utility operations, power delivery technology, operational technology systems, or grid-management applications, is preferred.
• Demonstrated experience creating and executing structured test plans, test cases, and defect documentation.
• Ability to communicate effectively with engineering, operations, vendor, and technology stakeholders.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
• Understanding of electric distribution systems, power flow concepts, SCADA, substations, grid operations, or distribution engineering.
• Enterprise software testing experience, preferably using Tricentis qTest.
• Experience translating technical requirements or operating scenarios into repeatable tests and clearly documented results.
• Demonstrated ability to quickly learn complex utility software and operational workflows.

Desired Qualifications

• Experience with GE Vernova, GE GridOS, GE ADMS, GE EMS, GE DMS, GE OMS, GE SCADA, e-terra, PowerOn Fusion, Source, Display Builder, or VSS.
• Knowledge of distribution operations, outage management, switching operations, FLISR, network modeling, or distribution power flow.
• Experience with Tricentis qTest, Jira, Azure DevOps, HP ALM, Quality Center, or a comparable test and defect management tool.
• Experience testing integrated OT and IT environments.
• Familiarity with SQL, data validation, APIs, interface testing, or test automation.
• Experience working in Agile, iterative delivery, or vendor-led implementation environments.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, and stakeholder communication skills.
