Job summary

Virginia Oncology Associates in Virginia Beach and Suffolk seeks an Admixture Tech to support its cancer care operations. This full-time, in-person role involves preparing medication orders, verifying patient information, and ensuring proper approvals and documentation.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, 3–5 years pharmacy experience with IV skills, and certifications such as IV or CPHT; travel between offices is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Three to five years' experience in a pharmacy with IV skills preferred.
• IV certification strongly preferred.
• Experience with Lynx, Epic, Pyxis, Omnicell is preferred.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician certificate or State Pharmacy Board preferred.
• Willing to travel between offices as needed.

Responsibilities

• Prepares medication orders by admixing medications under the supervision of a physician, calculating correct dosage volumes.
• Checks all orders for completeness of information, verifies patient information and proper physician authorization.
• Checks all orders for insurance approval before admixing.
• Properly disposes all materials used when mixing chemo or non-chemo IVs. Cleans hood daily or as stated in policy and procedures.
• Logs and dates all drugs being used. Checks drugs for monthly outdate and other quality assurance activities as assigned.
• Maintains proper control documentation of medications. Completes inventory control of medications.
• Performs efficient data entry into systems used by admixture.
• Orders medication and supplies as directed

Compensation Range: $17.10 - $36.76. Actual pay is determined based on job-related factors such as relevant experience, education, credentials, skills, internal equity, and business needs.
