Job summary

Gundersen Health System is seeking a compassionate Admitting Counselor/Registration Clerk to join our La Crosse Emergency Services/Urgent Care team. The 1.0 FTE role offers a stable schedule with shifts starting early morning, Monday through Friday, and occasional weekend rotation.

You will help patients with admission, registration, and insurance coordination, making a meaningful impact on patient experience.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalency required.
  • 1 year experience in general support or service area, requiring basic occupational knowledge and skills.

  • Gather and verify demographic information.
  • Confirm insurance coverage and pre-certification details.
  • Inform patients about their financial responsibilities prior to admission and/or discharge.

What's Available:

1.0 FTE (80 hours bi-weekly) Shift: 5:00 AM - 1:30 PM, Monday - Friday. Every 3rd week rotation: Monday - Wednesday: 7:00 AM -3:30 PM + Saturday & Sunday: 7:00 AM -3:30 PM Location: La Crosse Emergency Services/Urgent Care

What you will do:
