Job summary

The University of Minnesota Morris is seeking an Assistant Director of Admissions to lead a team of admissions counselors, set recruitment strategies, and partner with campus offices to reach enrollment targets.

In this hybrid role, you will analyze data, travel to high schools and events, and ensure ethical admissions practices while advancing access and student success for a diverse student body.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree plus four years in college admissions or related field.
• Prior supervisory or leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of undergraduate admissions processes and enrollment trends.
• Excellent interpersonal, public speaking, and written/verbal communication skills.
• Commitment to access, belonging, and student success for diverse backgrounds.
• Proficiency with enrollment management software/CRM (Slate) and MS Office; strong data reporting skills.
• Willingness to travel extensively including evenings, weekends, and overnight stays.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and evaluate a team of admissions counselors and staff.
• Manage a recruitment territory or functional area and target populations.
• Develop recruitment strategies, travel plans, and outreach programs.
• Represent the university at events and deliver information sessions to prospective students and families.
• Oversee or participate in holistic application review and determine admission eligibility.
• Analyze recruitment data using CRM systems to track progress and identify trends.
• Collaborate on yield initiatives to convert admitted students to enrolled students.
• Assist in developing marketing materials and digital campaigns to attract applicants.
• Serve as liaison with counselors, alumni, and internal departments (financial aid, advising, marketing).
• Ensure compliance with FERPA and institutional policies; contribute to budgeting and planning.
