Performs advanced specialist duties for the office of Admissions Recruitment. Delivers a student-centered experience by supporting key office functions and leading our student worker team. A vital connection between students, families, and the university, while guiding them through the admissions process with clarity and care. This role blends leadership, communication, and operations to ensure student workers are empowered and prospective students feel supported from first contact through enrollment.

Assists in leading and supporting the SHSU Admissions student worker team by recruiting, training, supervising, and coaching student workers with consistency and care. Collaborates with departments across campus to execute events supported by student workers like Saturday@SAM, training weeks, huddles, and other student recruitment programming and trainings. Oversees business functions tied to admissions operations and ensure the right technology tools are in place and working efficiently. Serves as a backup for depositing application fees with the cashier's office, maintaining accurate records of transactions. Communicates the admissions process and provides exceptional customer service to prospective and incoming students and families, offering timely and helpful communication through email, phone, text, and in-person interactions. Oversees the front desk operations including greeting visitors, providing information, and addressing questions. Maintains a high standard of quality control and service excellence throughout the student experience. Provides support to the admissions team, including data entry, and file maintenance. Supports ongoing initiatives that enhance the admissions experience, both internally with staff and externally with students. Performs other duties that contribute to the success of the recruitment and admissions process.

Requires a general knowledge of standard office functions. Ability to supervise business functions. Requires good knowledge of procedures and practices, local, state, and federal laws. Must be able to use standard office software. Must be able to apply policies and procedures and solve routine problems of a repetitive nature. Communicates with other university departments, personnel, and other agencies.
