Registered Nurse (RN) - Admissions
PRN/Per Diem Opportunity.
(A 2 WEEK ORIENTATION IS REQUIRED. MON- FRI 8:30A-5:00P)

Rockford Center is a 138-bed mental health facility located in Newark, DE, providing inpatient and partial behavioral health programs for children, adolescents, adults, and older adults. It is the only child inpatient behavioral health facility in DE and serves New Castle County and northern Maryland.

Position Summary:

The Admissions RN provides direct nursing care to patients as prescribed by the physician, under the supervision of the nursing leadership. The RN ensures care is appropriate for the age group and complies with the State Nurse Practice Act and facility policies.

Responsibilities:
  • Conducts individualized nursing care based on patient condition, physician orders, and protocols.
  • Administers PRN medications, assesses their need and effectiveness, and documents accordingly.
  • Reports changes in patient status, episodes of seclusion or restraint to the nurse manager or supervisor each shift.
  • Ensures family and physician notifications are documented for emergencies, injuries, falls, or behavioral interventions.
  • Collaborates on developing, implementing, and evaluating patient care plans.
  • Performs treatments and therapies as ordered promptly and appropriately.
  • Documents patient care, responses, and interventions thoroughly.
  • Initiates emergency measures following age-specific CPR and resuscitation protocols.
  • Participates in crisis interventions using age-appropriate techniques.
  • Maintains confidentiality per HIPAA, providing respectful, non-discriminatory care that respects cultural diversity and patient dignity.
