Job summary

Universal Health Services in Houston, TX is seeking an Admissions/Intake Nurse (RN) for night shifts to coordinate patient admissions and provide triage and medical screening across inpatient and outpatient programs.

The role requires Texas RN licensure; BSN preferred, and CPR/Handle With Care certifications (or obtained during orientation). You will liaise with physicians, nurses and families to ensure smooth patient flow.

Qualifications

• Graduate from a professional nursing program; BSN preferred.
• Licensed Registered Nurse in Texas.
• CPR and Handle With Care certifications required or obtainable during orientation.

Responsibilities

• Initial triage and medical screening.
• Assessments for inpatient and outpatient programs.
• Assess, direct and intervene in crisis situations.
• Nurse to nurse screenings for patients transferring to our facility.
• Obtain physician orders, intake calls and pre-certifications.
• Communicate patient needs to unit nurses, physicians and families.
