Position Overview

Delaware Hospice is actively seeking an Admissions RN to cover New Castle and Kent Counties. The schedule will be Monday-Friday 12 to 8:30 pm with weekend rotation every 3 to 4 weeks.

Qualifications
  • Current license to practice professional nursing in the State of Delaware (in New Castle County, must maintain PA license as well).
  • Graduate of an approved school of nursing. Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred.
  • Certification in hospice nursing preferred.
  • Minimum of two years of nursing experience, preferably in hospice or home care.
Responsibilities
  • Function as a member of the interdisciplinary team to provide hospice services to patients and families.
  • Act as a representative of Delaware Hospice in hospitals and facilities.
  • Establish positive relationships with hospital and facility staff.
  • Manage general inpatient visits in hospitals.
  • Utilize the nursing process to provide quality care in accordance with Delaware Hospice policy.
  • Facilitate efficient admission of patients and families.

  • Delaware Hospice nurses may care for pediatric patients.
  • Specialized training and orientation are offered for nurses interested in the Katybug program, which helps children from perinatal to young adult find relief from pain and symptoms at home.
  • Our team includes medical directors, nurses, CNAs, social workers, chaplains, bereavement counselors, and volunteers, all committed to comprehensive care.
