Job summary

Eastern Oregon University is seeking an Admissions Counselor to engage with prospective students, families, and schools, promoting undergraduate programs and campus life in Oregon. The role emphasizes travel, outreach, and strong customer service to meet enrollment goals.

The incumbent will develop recruitment plans, present to groups, manage data on prospective students, and collaborate with the Admissions team to optimize outreach across assigned territories.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
• Valid state driver’s license with responsible driving record.
• At least one year of experience in Academic Affairs, outreach, or admissions-related roles.
• Strong written, verbal, interpersonal, and public speaking skills; comfort with diverse populations.

Responsibilities

• Research assigned territories and address the needs of the students.
• Serve as the main point of contact for high school and transfer students seeking an undergraduate degree from Eastern Oregon University.
• Develop and maintain recruitment plan and track success of initiatives.
• Use software to track communications, analyze trends, and make recommendations to meet enrollment goals.
• Advise prospective students about EOU undergraduate studies and courses.
• Explain admission policies and steps to students and families; provide outstanding customer service.
• Assist in campus visit program and conduct campus tours when needed.
• Support admissions events such as Preview Days and Discover Your Future.
