Job summary

Preferred Behavioral Health Group in Lakewood, NJ is seeking an Admissions/Program Counselor to perform biopsychosocial assessments for adults 18+ seeking outpatient mental health services. You will collaborate with the Clinical and Program Directors on client assignments and provide referrals when appropriate.

The role requires a Master’s degree in a mental health discipline and NJ licensure readiness, with a strong emphasis on crisis intervention, documentation, and group facilitation.

Qualifications

• CPR/First Aid certification required.
• Experience working with adults with emotional and behavioral needs.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments for adults 18+ seeking outpatient mental health services.
• Collaborate with Clinical and Program Directors on client assignments to staff.
• Provide crisis intervention when needed during intake or clinical escalation.
• Complete medical record documentation and ensure timely referrals and service plans.
• Plan and facilitate psycho-education groups and various therapeutic activities.
• Maintain CPR/First Aid certification and ensure accurate caseload reporting.
