Job summary

UCLA is looking for an Admission Officer to support undergraduate admissions evaluation for freshmen and transfer applicants. You will serve staff and external partners, visit colleges and high schools, and present UCLA and UC system requirements to prospective students and counselors.

The role involves counseling on scholarships, financial aid, housing, and campus services, interpreting admission criteria, and representing UCLA at conferences. Evening hours and travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 1–3 years of related job experience.
• 1–3 years of related experience in outreach or admissions.
• Strong knowledge of UC admissions policy preferred.
• Ability to interpret complex admission requirements.
• Experience presenting to groups and counselors.

Responsibilities

• Assist in undergraduate admissions evaluation for freshman and transfer applicants.
• Serve as a resource to staff and external stakeholders for admission issues.
• Visit community colleges and high schools to provide information about UCLA and the UC system to prospective students and counselors.
• Provide information on scholarships, financial aid, housing and campus services.
• Act as a resource on undergraduate admissions topics to external community including high school counselors, university representatives and UCLA faculty, advisors and administrators.
• Interpret UC admission requirements and make independent decisions regarding the acceptance of transfer coursework for domestic and foreign institutions.
• Represent UCLA and Undergraduate Admission at conferences and meetings.
• Participate in interdepartmental and UC system‑wide meetings regarding admission to the University.
• Work with prospective student audiences including special programs and articulation with 2- and 4-year colleges.
