Job summary

South College's Indianapolis campus is seeking an Admissions Officer to welcome students and guide them through enrollment steps, including paperwork, qualifications, campus tours, financial aid, and scheduling.

The role requires providing accurate information about programs, helping students select study paths based on transcripts and scores, and qualifying applicants while supporting the admissions team within budget and process guidelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience.
• In-field experience may substitute for degree requirements.

Responsibilities

• Welcomes students by guiding them through enrollment steps.
• Provides accurate information about the college and programs.
• Assist students in selecting programs based on transcripts and test scores.
• Qualify applicants who meet admissions requirements.
• Make required calls, follow-ups, referrals, and daily activities.
• Support team admissions processes by following policies and procedures.
• Ensure adherence to the approved annual departmental budget.
• Provide feedback to managers to improve department quality and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Welcomes students by actively participating in all steps of the enrollment process (required paperwork, qualifications, campus tours, financial aid, and obtaining schedules)
• Provides adequate and accurate information relative to the college and its programs.
• Assist students in selecting their programs of study based upon professional judgements, available test scores, high school, and/or college transcripts.
• Qualify applicants for admission who meet the stated college admissions requirements.
• Utilize good use of time by making all required phone calls, follow-ups, generating referrals and other daily activities in pursuit of departmental objectives.
• Consistently performs the activities that support individual and overall team admissions processes by following policies and procedures.
• Ensure adherence to the approved annual departmental budget.
• Provides feedback to department managers on how to improve the overall quality and efficiency of the admissions department.

Requirements
